New Balance Debuts More ABZORB 2000 Colorways In Sao Paolo

In Boston, it’s currently all hands on deck for the “Grey Days” celebration, both a spotlight for already established models like the New Balance 1906L or New Balance 1906R, and the debut of fresher product like the New Balance 2010. However, our interest remains piqued by a silhouette looming for the months beyond May, the New Balance 2000. After our first glimpse at the shoe coming at the hands of Soares 4R, a Brazilian artist, both New Balance and some of their hosts are pulling back the curtain on the first New Balance ABZORB 2000 activation, the “Abzorb House.”

Built out with the help of Brazilian creatives Not the Samo, the focus on the country’s underground musical talent continued with this kick-off, bringing together local talent in-studio with the new model at the center of the festivities. Crucially for our purposes, the photography that came out of this activation reveals a number of new colorways gracing the springy silhouette. The blue edition that revealed the model is still heavily featured, but four extra looks join them in these shots: a stealthy all-black, a traditional white/grey, an icy teal and silver, and a vibrant pink gradient.

While the new looks are certainly enticing, in the broadest strokes this continues an inventive initial rollout for the brand aiming to forge and solidify the connection between genuine streetstyle and culture and the New Balance ABZORB 2000. Expect official plans for the New Balance ABZORB 2000 to begin in June — in the meantime, catch the sum of this early guerilla-style approach included below.
