New Balance Serves “Ice Wine” On The Latest 1906 Offshoot

Sprightly two-tones for the "webbed" edition.

New Balance Serves “Ice Wine” On The Latest 1906 Offshoot

The New Balance 1906R is no longer just an entity in the Boston brand’s larger catalog, it’s an enterprise unto itself. Spawning branches as attention-grabbing as the infamous New Balance loafer or ones as subtle as the New Balance 1906U, the shoe kicked off 2025 with another, the New Balance 1906W. Chiefly distinguished by a new sleek overall build, the model is beginning to hit shelves and stretch its wings in accordance, now cropping up at various retailers in the “Ice Wine” edition at hand.

To get a bit more granular in what gives the 1906W a new niche, the silhouette swaps the techy leather overlays that made the 1906 a dominant Y2K silhouette for thin “Stability Web” layers on either side. Underneath, new knitted mesh further presents the shoe as an evolution, while the sole unit and heel cage remain in place to keep it a recognizable member of the family.

For this delivery, pink and grey is the palette, anchoring the shoe with the more neutral shade and executing a gradient across the sidewall webs. Cream laces add one final Pantone punch, while the hexagonal underpinnings seen at the tongue chime in with some extra textural depth.

We’re expecting the New Balance 1906W “Ice Wine” to hit NB.com as a part of their Spring ’25 offerings, but as mentioned above, the shoe is already up for grabs via select retailers. Expect a retail price in the $150 range wherever you come across this pair.
