Air Jordan 1 KO
While recent years have brought a ton of iteration on the classic Air Jordan 1, the KO is far closer to an OG than a modern retooling, first releasing in 1986. It’s not entirely surprising that this piece of trivia is somewhat lost in the modern canon, as that original run didn’t attain much commercial or cultural success. However, the classic canvas construction that lends the Air Jordan 1 KO its lower price tag has returned several times since that initial go around. 2014 was arguably the biggest push with the KO debuting rolled out carrying some of the most iconic AJ1 colorways like “Royal,” “Chicago,” “Bred” and “Shadow.”
The lime green Billie Eilish collaboration at the end of 2021 ignited renewed attention around the KO, leading to another multi-year return to shelves. While no big releases are currently on the schedule for 2024, warmer weather could be a more fitting time to drop the lightweight take on Mike’s first signature.
