adidas adiFOM Q
Following its official introduction back in June, the adidas adiFOM Q first hit shelves at select retailers on September 2nd, 2022. A global release is slated for September 15th, the same date the “Core Black” colorway is scheduled to debut.
When the adiFOM Q was first unveiled, many drew comparisons to the much-beloved Foam Runner. This controversy erupted not long after Ye publicly expressed his disdain for adidas, who, according to the multi-faceted creative, went through with multiple colorways/restocks as well as the Yeezy Day event itself without his approval. In addition, Ye took to social media to accuse the Three Stripes of copying the Yeezy Slide for their newly-released Adilette 22. It’s clear he also feels similarly about the adiFOM Q, as Ye reshared a post by Swizz Beatz in which the producer effectively alleges that the design was stolen.
By way of their own social media posts, adidas revealed the inspiration for the adiFOM Q: the adidas Quake, which was originally released in 2001. Unlike this relatively obscure silhouette, however, the modern release is much less like a sneaker and more similar to a clog. Its construction consists of a foam-constructed exoskeleton and an internal lining, the latter of which can be removed.
At the time of writing this, only two colorways of the adidas adiFOM Q have been revealed. More are surely on the way, and updates can be found below as more information and details surface.
