Released as part of the Skateboard Pack, the Griptapes were named so because of the griptape-like material seen on the lacehole tabs and on the toe box.  The rest of the shoe, however, is made of black suede, with the swoosh being a grey leather.  This was a pretty popular colorway that was also often skated in.
