As Kanye West further solidifies his Yeezy empire as an independent entity, Pharrell Williams continues to lend his creativity to some of adidas’ most important mainline silhouettes. For his next effort, the Virginia Beach-native is adding a stealthy aesthetic to the adidas Ultra Boost.
At a glance, the forthcoming proposition resembles a monochromatic pair that’d be easily found in stock, but further inspection reveals some special details. The “Hu” triangle logo common to much of Williams’ collaborative projects with the Three Stripes appears on the lateral heel, and falls just underneath a covert pattern of solid triangles that extends onto the medial side. The profile 3-Stripes indulge in a “Core Black” tone that blends into their surroundings, but under the right lighting, they animate due to their reflective coating. Underfoot, sole units further partake in a dark palette, although the BOOST exposed via the outsole is white. Lastly, Williams adds his signature playful “Human Race” graphics onto the sockliners.
