One of the more attention-capturing creatives within the realm of sneakers today is Hiroshi Fujiwara who helms the ever-popular and mysterious Japanese imprint Fragment Design. In terms of collaborations, the one they call the “godfather of the Ura-Harajuku fashion scene” is notoriously known for his Fragment Air Jordan 1 — which happens to be listed at over $5K in most sizes on the secondary market right now — but he’s kept somewhat active in terms of sneaker projects over the past year through an Air Force 1 with CLOT, and more recently the fragment Moncler Chuck 70 collection. And now, Fujiwara is revisiting his relationship with the Jumpman this month to proffer up one of the most anticipated releases of the year that includes a full range of apparel, the Jordan Air Cadence, and the Air Jordan 3.

Certainly the most cherished of the capsule is the retro AJ3, and it’s ultra-clean execution is signature of the Fragment Design language. Sans any cement print that we’re used to seeing on the silhouette, this iteration, save for the smooth black leather mudguards, is cowled in crispy white exteriors along the uppers, laces, and treading. Towards the rear, you’ll find appropriate Fragment logos layered below the translucent Jumpman mold, as well as atop the lateral rear in embossed fashion. Moreover, just above the Air bubbles you’ll find a textual hit that involves a long set of numbers as well as the Fragment moniker.
