Back in September, we brought you a look at a very interesting new approach to sneaker customization. Rather than using paint or different additional materials to alter his kicks, customizer, Jason Negron, came up with a way to switch up the outsoles to give his creations a fresh new look. You’ve already seen what he did with the Air Foamposites, and now, we get a look at his latest sole-swap subject. Staying within the Penny/Posite family, this time around, Jason has applied his magic to the Nike Air 1/2 Cent, taking two different colorways and cris-crossing the soles to create a new visual identity for each pair.
The clear sole from the Varsity Royal edition of the 1/2 Cent was fused onto the Green Spark colorway, with the bright green sole from that pair ending up on the Royals to give both pairs a Dallas Mavericks sorta feel. You’ll notice that beyond just the sole trading, Jason also went the extra mile on these by switching the Swooshes as well, a move that helped bring in some matching accent colors as compliments to the new soles. Our readers have been keeping Jason busy with custom requests, but if you’ve got a concept for a similar switcharoo, you can contact him through Packer Shoes and maybe he can bring your vision to life. For now though, check out a bunch more pics after the jump.
