Back in December 2019, Reebok announced a series of events, videos, and products highlighting Allen Iverson. Since then, the England-founded company has prepped handfuls of the Virginia-native’s signature sneakers, with the Question unquestionably at the forefront of any commemorative endeavors. And rightfully so, not only because it’s Iverson’s first signature sneaker, but also because it turns 25 this year. To celebrate, the brand is reissuing the silhouette’s original red suede-toe arrangement on August 21st.
While the Question “Red Toe” transcended basketball to become beloved among sneaker enthusiasts, it’s most known construction features a pearlized leather toe. Prior to its mass-market launch, A.I.’s first sneaker with Reebok released to the public with a red, premium suede toe, and in a limited-to-5,000-pairs run. The scarlet-colored fabric also animated the “Q”-branded heel, which sits above a “3” styled in the likeness of the Philadelphia 76ers’ home uniforms. Elsewhere, August’s first-time retro also maintains the red across the ghillie lacing system, vector logo branding, and visible Hexalite cushioning. White supple leather makes up the rest of the upper; underfoot, icy blue tread rounds out Scott Hewett’s 25-year-old design just as it originally did.
The original “Red Toe” Question hits Reebok.com on August 21st in full-family sizing. While you wait, enjoy a closer look at the pair here below.
