Now that it’s produced over one million general-use face masks for and delivered over 13,000 pairs of footwear to healthcare workers, New Balance has launched the NB Face Mask V3.
Designed for sale to the general public, the NB Face Mask V3 was developed with feedback from medical and R&D institutions in New England (but has not been cleared or approved by the FDA). The product’s first prototype was produced within 12 days by a team of industrial engineers and designers. The NB Face Mask V3 features a moldable nose piece and a 3-layer combination of polyester/TPU, suede polyester fabric, polyurethane filtration foam, and nylon tricot. Furthermore, the face mask is non-sterile; lightweight and breathable, but durable; machine-washable; and secures with over-ear loops.
“We are thankful that the innovative thinking of our associates, our long history of domestic manufacturing and the work of our highly skilled teams in our factories have allowed us to quickly adapt to help meet the immense mask needs of the healthcare community, and now the general public,” said Dave Wheeler, New Balance’s Chief Operating Officer.
The NB Face Mask V3 is assembled in Lawrence, MA and now available in “Grey” in packs of three for $24.99 at NewBalance.com. Next month, New Balance aims to launch an athletic mask that will be available for sale in limited quantities.
For footwear from the Boston-based brand, check out a recently-surfaced yellow New Balance 327.
