Once hellbent on presenting city exclusive themes, Nike and Foot Locker have teamed up more than a few times in the past, proffering a range of classics in new and at times innovative colorways. The duo’s latest series, which forgoes local neighborhoods for more nationally touted basketball heroes, hones in on the pre-game rituals that many athletes practice to better prepare themselves for official play. And while Luka Doncic and Ben Simmons opt to, respectively, take a breath and reiterate inspiring quotes, both De’Aaron Fox and Brittney Griner put music at the heart of their process. As such, their collaborative Air Force 1 designs with close reference to audio mixing. The texture of the lenticular materials that cover the heel tab and swoosh make nods to the medium’s acoustic waveforms, with the latter overlay going a step further with more overt graphics. Reds and yellows then adorn subtler accents, the most notable of which being the stitched detailing that can be seen at the forefoot. Grab a detailed look at these here and expect Foot Locker to receive their pairs on May 14th.
In other news, the Metallic Orange Air Jordan 4 is releasing soon.
