Much like Stephen Curry, Paul George, and even his own backcourt colleague CJ McCollum, Damian Lillard falls into the category of NBA players who still found a way to impact the game at a high level despite attending a mid-major college. The 6’2 scrappy point guard played his collegiate career at Utah’s Weber State University where he dominated the Big Sky conference with ease, eventually leading to him being picked sixth overall in the 2012 draft.
So for his next footwear makeover, the Portland Trailblazers’ superstar wants to unofficially nod to one of the most significant chapters of his playing career by constructing his adidas Dame 6 with a Wildcats motif. Home uniform team colors are translated through its textile upper that is primarily hued in “Chalk White” while purple accents sprawl through the stripes, sock liners, and medial walls entirely. Additionally, abstract printed graphics ornament the medial paneling which, if you look close enough, almost make out to be Wildcat claw shapes to further emphasize its alma-mater theme. For those looking to get their hands on a pair, you can expect them to release on April 11th on adidas.com for a retail tag of $120.
