Few artists operate at the intersection of music and sneakers, but among those select notables, even fewer are as dominant as Travis Scott, the revered rapper whose collaborations have become instant classics upon release. Fresh off a wild, workwear-inspired take of the Air Force 1, La Flame is moving on to one of his favorite silhouettes, the Nike SB Dunk Low, bringing along a pattern work akin to that of the aforementioned though dialed up to a deafening volume. Raffled off with its special box this past weekend, the pair sent the sneaker world into a frenzy, with some people still hopeful of a winning email. Dropping once more later this week, the pair is undoubtedly going to be difficult to track down, but in case you’re unable to get your hands on a personal set, you can vicariously enjoy them by way of our very own images.
Replete with details, the design itself has more than its fair share of talking points, with each accent noteworthy in its own right. The overlays, though, beat out the constructions adjacent by just a small margin, using a dual-layered execution that is intended to wear away with time or the aggressive skate session. Its exterior marks with black paisley while the print underneath resembles the heritage cement motif but with branches taking the place of its typical cracks. Moreover, plaids seat the base of both the lateral and medial swoosh — the latter dressed pink and the former black — while the fabrications at the toe box and top line prefer a more untouched display of sand-tinged nubuck that complements the similarly colored bottom. Elsewhere, literal rope laces replace the standard and various Cactus Jack logos round off with both its recognizable and Russian variations.
