Odell Beckham Jr is unquestionably one of the most outsized personalities in all of professional sports, and Nike has ensured that the Browns wideout is always decked in signature footwear that’s just as fierce and flamboyant as he is. Now, the Swoosh Brand’s latest creations for OBJ have surfaced, and they’re unexpected, to say the least: two colorways of a brand-new silhouette dubbed the Nike OBJ Joyride Flyknit. Arriving in a vivid “Bright Crimson” and a more toned-down “Atmosphere Grey,” each shoe features a laceless construction and a midsole that uses three independant Nike Joyride pods for versatile cushioning. However, they’re much more than just a new-jack pair of Nike shoes. They’re packed full of details and meaning specific to Odell, with a callout to his hometown of Baton Rouge, LA stamped on the translucent upper strap, a “Best After 05/19/14” hit, nodding to the date the LSU alum signed his first pro contract, and special insole graphics.
