As his storied career enters its final chapters, Derrick Rose is looking back to his hoops genesis with a new adidas D Rose 10 “Simeon,” inspired by the colors of his Chicago high school. Although Rose wore his new signature model on NBA courts several times last season, this homage-packed colorway may very well be the first retail release of the model, and it carries on the line’s design ethos while still managing to introduce some bold new features. The colorway is kept simple and school-specific, using a white base with yellow and blue accents. A Bounce midsole and padded ankle collar/structured heel clip offer cushioning and support in equal measures, while the outsole mixes herringbone and circular traction patterns for all-surface grip — and also adds a marbled white/blue/yellow pattern for the shoe’s loudest embellishment. Rose’s long-running signature logo appears stamped on the tongue in blue, and the midfoot overlay offers debossed detailing that acknowledges some of his most important achivements, including his 2010-11 NBA MVP campaign. If you look at the insole, you’ll also notice it features the point guard’s high school #25 for a meaningful finishing touch of style. A release date has not yet been announced, but you can expect these new adidas hoop shoes to roll out this summer. Enjoy a set of images below, and stay tuned for more updates on the D Rose 10 as the 2019-20 NBA season approaches.
