The 4th of July is still a few months away, but Nike’s already feeling the holiday’s patriotic vibes, as they’ve premiered a new Air Max 95 in a USA-centric white, red, and blue color scheme. The design continues the 95’s recent propensity to use a jersey-style mesh for the base layer instead of the more tightly-knit fabric found on classic makeups, and it also removes one of the midfoot’s overlaid stripes for an interesting stripped-back look. Even though they’re one stripe short, these 95s still manage to muster a copious amount of colored detailing, dressing the remaining overlays in blue nubuck and red leather while bringing everything together with a red, white, and blue badge on the tongue. Down below, a white midsole and bright red Air Max cushioning units lock in the shoe’s classic comfort. Long-time Air Max fans may see some overall similarities to another red, white, and blue pair of AM95s, a memorable 2004 makeup that split its stripes evenly between the two accenting colors. If you’re looking to fly your flag in these Nike shoes this summer, you’ll be able to do just that in the coming weeks when they release on Nike.com for $160 USD.
