A Breakdown Of atmos’ Vintage Running Inspired Nike Collaboration

A Breakdown Of atmos’ Vintage Running Inspired Nike Collaboration

Celebrating a rich history with Nike, atmos is set to debut what they dub their most “extreme” release with the swoosh yet, taking to the revitalized Air Max 2 Light with a tooling that calls back to both the designers’ and the brand’s roots. The apparel capsule impresses with its reuse of old trends, boasting oversized silhouettes and vibrant color arrangements that accompany the footwear, a pair that breathes an equivalent 90s ethos. Vast subcultures of that impactful era come together in — quite literally — collage form, creating a patchwork creation that mixes over 12 vintage prints and iconography as an homage to Hirofumi Kojima’s memories of cutting and pasting magazine images. Asymmetrical embroidery and screen printed executions mix with the almost unnoticeable visage of the clear plastic overlays, allowing much of the colored backdrops to speak their volume uninhibited.
