The Air Jordan 3 Gets Transformed Into A High-Top Explorer

Following a recent trend by Beaverton, many a classic silhouette is donning a transformed tooling, offering up high-top variations, deconstructed elements, and unique takes on branding. Culminating into quite a few women’s exclusive releases with the Blazer Mid and Air Force 1, the next to join these avant garde ranks is the iconic Jordan 3. Taking on a tooling that the model is not commonly seen in — which is affectionately dubbed the Explorer XX — the designers have opted for a high-top construction, raising the ankle beyond what is to be expected. Adorned along the lace unit is an imposing buckle, fusing in many of the utilitarian elements found in other releases. Palettes are kept muted — mostly to allow the redesign to shine — dressing the leather and synthetic upper in a matte black while giving a bit more visual contrast by way of an off-white midsole. This is surely not the last we’ll be seeing of the reconstructed model, as a Navy colorway is set to arrive very soon. Currently available now, you can find the Jordan 3 Explorer XX at retailers like Finish Line for a retail of $145 USD.
