Kanye West‘s dominance of the pop culture headlines is showing no signs of slowing down any time soon. After deleting and then reactivating his social media accounts, and paying a visit to the White House — during which the general public discovered his iPhone password is 000000 — West was recently spotted at a Chicago-based Apple store, possibly for a crash course on how to change his phone passcode. Normally this wouldn’t be anything more than another public sighting of the Windy City native out and about, but it’s what was on his feet that has everyone talking. Kayne — a long-time adidas endorser — was wearing UA’s new chunky shoe, the Forge 96. As the rapper has long publicly professed his love and admiration for his German creative partners and is often seen in his adidas Yeezy shoes/gear, the image was certainly an interesting plot twist. It’s very possible that West’s contract permits him to occasionally wear other footwear brands, and he was simply supporting his good friend ASAP Rocky — who just released his first signature shoe with Under Armour, the UA SRLo — but some could see it as a sign of dissent as well. In a humorous side note, two of the Apple employees who were assisting Ye were in fact wearing the Three Stripes — one opting for the adidas NMD R1, while the other sported a silhouette similar to the classic adidas Stan Smith. Get a look at West rocking the kicks below, and let us know what — if anything — you think is going on.
