First Look At The Sonic The Hedgehog x Puma RS-0

First Look At The Sonic The Hedgehog x Puma RS-0

Last month, Puma broke the news that they were teaming up with SEGA’s Sonic the Hedgehog video game franchise to help re-introduce the classic RS-0 silhouette. While the model comes devoid of any of the tech-savvy innovations it included back in the ’80’s, its new construction fits the ideals of today’s sneaker industry. Before, we only had a pixelated video-game like image to go off of, but now we have a first look at what to expect come June, as the shoe was officially unveiled at a Puma press event in Berlin. Its upper comes dressed in a Sonic-colored blue made up of hairy suede while the red outsole represents his red shoes. Sonic and Puma branding share real estate on the sneaker’s tongue while metal hardware on the laces and embroidered details on the medial side of the heel pays homage to the game’s gold rings. A green heel counter nods to the grass from Sonic’s classic “Green Hill Zone” starting level. Stay tuned for a specific release date and more images as they become available.
