The hottest sneaker collaborator on Earth right now, Virgil Abloh, celebrated Nike’s BREAKING2 marathon runner Eliud Kipchoge’s speedy win in the Berlin Marathon over the weekend with a special customization of his Zoom Fly from THE TEN collection. Further proving that everything he writes on turns to gold (at least in the eyes of some), people are hyped on the added inscription on the midsole of Kipchoge’s finishing time of 2:03:32 of Virgil’s edition of the Zoom Fly—in quotation marks of course.
As we reported on Friday, Kipchoge’s goal was to break the marathon world record at the Berlin race while wearing the Zoom VaporFly Elite, but fell short by less than a minute. His effort was still good enough for a victory and an endorsement from Virgil, though. As you’ll see in his Instagram post below, Virgil was also able to score Kipchoge’s signatures on a second pair of the standard Zoom Fly.
