Nike’s latest and greatest running model, the Nike ZoomX VaporFly 4%, is releasing in more colorways in the near future. The $250 USD running shoe was part of Nike Running’s Breaking2 initiative to record the first ever sub 2 hour marathon time. And while the actual shoe made for Eliud Kipchoge is fetching around $10,000 USD on eBay given the exclusive nature of the sample, the ZoomX VaporFly 4% is still a rather lofty price for most. But consider that ZoomX took over four years to develop and cushioning system utilizes technology that promises an 85% return of energy, an updated carbon fiber plate to enhance the sensation of propulsion forward, and a rubber outsole for better forefoot traction, and this performance runner’s pricing starts to make more sense.
Today we get a look at the ZoomX VaporFly 4% in a brand new Royal Blue colorway featuring that bold forefoot Swoosh branding in a contrasting white, Breaking2 text on the medial midsole that reads ‘Engineered to the exact specifications of world-class runners. Making runners faster’, and a subtle gradient throughout. Would you spend $250 USD on this running model? There’s no word yet on a Release Date, but stay tuned for more updates right here on Sneaker News.
