All three runners might have fallen short of breaking the 2-hour marathon this weekend during Nike’s BREAKING2 event, but Eliud Kipchoge’s 2:00:25 second finish was still good enough to become the fastest marathon time ever recorded. With just 26 seconds over the goal, it certainly seems like a sub-2-hour marathon is in fact achievable in the near future.
The Zoom VaporFly Elite that all three racers wore seemed to the secret weapon of the event, helping the athletes run faster than they’ve ever ran before. Unfortunately most of us won’t ever get to try a pair out, but perhaps this upcoming edition of the all-new Zoom Pegasus 34 might be a decent consolation prize. The latest and greatest Pegasus features a similar light blue, white, and bright red color scheme as the Zoom VaporFly Elite worn during BREAKING2, and launches this June in both men’s and women’s sizing (women’s pictured here).
