Leave it to Japanese fashion icon NEIGHBORHOOD to have a collaboration with adidas Originals and then turn around and team up with Nike imprint Converse for their next partnership. That’s just how far-reaching and influential they are. NEIGHBORHOOD’s next effort brings back two icons from the Converse catalog in the ever-relevant Chuck Taylor 70 and the streetwear-ready One Star 74, each redefined with motorcycle-inspired aesthetics. Designer Shinsuke Takizawa took inspiration from 1970s motorcycle counterculture and everyday wearability for these premium Black/White offerings.
The NEIGHBORHOOD x Converse Chuck Taylor ’70 features a rugged leather and canvas upper with a gear-shift inspired midfoot strap. Updated branding features ‘NEIGHBORHOOD technical apparel’ with stock numbers for a truly unique twist. The Converse One Star ’74 is reimagined through a premium suede upper with a leather lining. The chevron Star is updated as well alongside NEIGHBORHOOD’s ‘crafted with pride’ mantra on the rubber midsole. The entire collaborative effort will be available this Thursday, April 6th via Nike.com.
