New Balance is known for their quality craftsmanship in regards to their retro running lineup. We’ve seen premium takes on NB classics time and time again, but now the Bostonian running specialists are teaming up with premier boot manufacturer, Danner, to produce what they’re calling the “American Pioneer Project” slated to launch on October 1st exclusively at Danner stores, New Balance Experience stores, and select outdoor footwear boutiques.
The collection aims to bridge the gap between two heritage American brands based on opposite coasts by creating two luxurious, United States-manufactured footwear models that reproduce the authenticity and craftsmanship of true and through American brands. The collection will feature the Danner New Balance 585 created in New Balance’s Skowhegan, Maine facility and the New Balance Danner Light Boot.
The Danner New Balance 585 is back in NB’s favorite Horween leather build with a durable ballistic nylon perfect for taking this once prolific running silhouette into the great outdoors. The upper shines in vegetable tanned leather while traditional boot laces cap off the pair nicely when paired with the off-white midsole unit. The New Balance Danner Light Boot takes inspiration from New Balance’s signature grey colorways by utilizing a premium grey suede, weather resistant Cordura mesh, and touches of Horween leather. The iconic hiking design was manufactured in Danner’s Portland, Oregon factory and comes equipped with an added leather piece on the heel to mimick the CR Device complete with reflective 3M detailing.
