Tennis shoes might be the category your grandparents group all sneaker releases into, but actual tennis shoes have been in the midst a bonified renaissance. adidas Originals’ retro of the adidas Stan Smith is partially responsible along with the likes of a K-Swiss resurgence, and Nike’s bring back their Tennis Classic for a handful of collaborations was met with open arms by the sneaker community. New Balance has been a true and through running brand since the Boston imprint’s conception, but did you know that NB had a rather successful tennis silhouette of their own? The folks over at BAIT are kicking off a new premium “Select” program (we’re especially fond of the name) by introducing the New Balance 791 in three premium colorways. Here the NB CT 791 dons a beautiful wolverine suede upper and leather tongue while brushed metal ‘N’ logos stand out in silver or gold. The three pair Multi-Pack offers 9 pairing options consisting of a Powder White pair with gold and silver metals, a Black pair with similar branding, and an “Excalibur” exception with gunmetal branding throughout. For the traditionalists, four symmetrical offerings will be available as well.
The BAIT x New Balance 791 “Select” Program arrives at BAIT locations on March 19th. Only 300 pairs of each of the 4 symmetical options will be available, while 100 of the special edition Multi-Pack will hit stores. The NB 791 will retail for $120 while the Multi-Pack featuring the three special edition colorways will retail for $360 (and will only be your’s through an online raffle). Check out more photos below.
