adidas Aims to Clean Up Oceans with Futurecraft Recycled Plastic Shoe

Adidas Futurecraft 3d Parley For The Oceans 1

Earlier this year, adidas teamed up with Parley For the Oceans for an innovative and meaningful new concept sneaker constructed with recycled ocean plastic. Now adidas has joined forces with the ocean pollution awareness organization once again for another shoe featuring recycled ocean plastic waste, this time utilizing the amazing new Futurecraft technology. This new concept shoe consists of an upper made from ocean plastic content and a 3D-printed midsole made from recycled polyester and gillnets, taking waste out of the ocean and making it useful on your feet. Although only a concept sneaker at this point, adidas has already taken action in helping reduce plastic waste in water as well as land, by eliminating the use of plastic bags at their retail stores, ending the use of plastic microbeads in their bodycare products, and no longer using plastic bottles for meetings at their German headquarters. Take a look at the Parley x adidas Futurecraft model here, and stay tuned for what the future holds for adidas’ recycled plastic footwear.
