New York sneaker boutique RISE teams up with PUMA for a very special edition of the Blaze of Glory for HIV/AIDS awareness. Losing his father to AIDS as a child, the disease is an issue near and dear to RISE co-founder Chase Ceparano, who partnered with PUMA for this “New York is For Lovers” Blaze of Glory. While calling attention to the cause for education about HIV and AIDS with the shoe, RISE and PUMA will be making a joint $15,000 donation to the American Foundation for AIDS Research (amFAR). Constructed in premium leather and suede in a bright red colorway, the “New York is For Lovers” Blaze of Glory receives special embossed branding inside and out while the lace dubraes feature the AIDS ribbon and “NYIFL” on alternating feet. For one last special touch, die-cut hearts at the heel paneling reveal reflective material underneath. The RISE x PUMA Blaze of Glory will release for $145 on December 1—world AIDS Day—at a special pop-up store in NYC at 345 Broome St, with remaining inventory releasing on RISE45.com at 12:01AM EST on Wednesday. 12/2. Visit the RISE45 blog for full details on this very special collaboration.
