Cincinnati’s Anonymous skate shop and UNheardof sneaker boutique team up with Nike SB this fall for a special two-shoe collaboration on the Dunk High and Low celebrating the 25th anniversary of the hometown baseball team’s underdog World Series win. The 1990 Cincinnati Reds, a rag-tag crew of players propelled to stardom by the “Nasty Boys” trio of dominant relief pitchers (Norm Charlton, Rob Dibble and Randy Myers), came into the World Series facing the heavily-favored Oakland A’s with their own Bash Brothers (Mark McGwire and Jose Canseco) and ended up sweeping the series in four games and taking home Cincy’s first championship in 14 years. The local shops pay homage to the Reds with this set of Dunks, consisting of the Dunk High in Oakland team colors and the Dunk Low in a Reds makeup also featuring gold Swooshes as a nod to the championship trophy. Each colorway also features American flags representing the same patches each team wore on their uniforms in observance of the Gulf War in progress during 1990. The Anonymous x UNheardof x Nike SB Dunk collection will release on December 4, 2015 exclusively at both shops, with a wider release at select retailers to follow.
