The Tokyo-based designer Shigeki Fujishiro is better known for his furniture designs than wearable fashions, but maybe that’s exactly what it takes to come up with something this original on a sneaker collaboration. Fuhishiro’s upcoming adidas Originals Stan Smith Play is one of the most unusual renditions of that famously spartan tennis lowtop, arriving at that conclusion by weaving colored cords through the perforations that make up the white leather pair’s Three Stripes. This gives both color and a textural contrast as well as having a sculpted effect and is really not like many other releases in that regard, though Yohji Yamamoto’s Super Position may come to mind with its own attachments on the Stripes.
