Sports media outlets around the world celebrated Michael Jordan’s 50th birthday last weekend, focusing on some of the most significant moments in his career. One of the resounding conclusions made was that Jordan, at age 50, isn’t done with basketball, as he continues his feverish push for glory as owner of the Charlotte Bobcats. That same desire for winning is what brought him out of retirement in 1995, donning the iconic ’45’ jersey for the remainder of the 1995 regular season and a portion of the Playoffs.
Nike did in fact create some sample pairs of the Air Jordan XI in the White/Black-Dark Concord colorway with ’45’ on the heel-tab, but as history tells us, Jordan switched back to ’23’ during the second-round match-up against the Orlando Magic and effectively closed the book on ’45’ for good. It’s very rare to come across this Air Jordan artifact so check out the gallery of this Air Jordan XI ‘Concord’ 45 Sample below and see the full listing from firstaction on eBay.
