Camouflage print has been a mainstay in the urban lifestyle fashion sector since the 1970’s, when army surplus gear-clad protestors would march down the streets yelling anti-government mumbo jumbo and such. We wouldn’t really call it a ‘comeback’, but camo has been rejuvenated thanks to popular models like the Air Force 1 and that LeBron 9 Low War-Vet sample showcasing the ruggedly handsome graphic print, and in 2013, it’s being used as a spark to ignite the popularity of some lesser-known Retros like the Air Way Up seen here. Camo print on Nike Basketball gear isn’t really a proven formula – in fact, it’s one of the more laughable failures of the last decade (anyone remember the camo-print Huarache 2K4), but can Retro and Camo go wrong in today’s sneaker scene? Check out the Nike Air Way Up in Blue Camo below and let us know what you think, and be sure to stick with Sneaker News for updated release information on this unique Retro release.
