It’s been more than five years since the University of Michigan‘s deal with Nike lapsed and the Wolverines signed with adidas, and it still doesn’t quite feel right to see the maize and blue without a Swoosh somewhere nearby. Nike officially inked a deal with UM back in 1994, but thanks to five fabulous freshmen and their era-defining fashion, Ann Arbor had been ‘doing it’ for even longer. Now we go back even further with Nike Sportswear as 1987’s Nike Air Trainer 1 Premium drops another colorway during this productive 25th year. There’s plenty to pick from now that NSW has dropped Michigan-leaning Air Trainer 1s, SCs and Air Pillars all within the past thirty days; which turned out best? The latest, pictured above and in more detail after the jump, is available now at retailers like Premier.
