With all the hype surrounding Michael Phelps’ ascension into the Olympic pantheon, some have questioned whether reigning World’s Fastest Man Usain Bolt could rack up a similar medals tally if he ran more different kinds of races. Bolt is untouchable on flat ground over relatively short distances, but similar praise could have been offered for triple crown-winning Chinese hurdler Liu ‘Fly Man’ Xiang at a point earlier this decade. Xiang was unable to defend his 110m gold in Beijing four years ago because of injury, but Nike hasn’t forgotten that about one of China’s greatest athletes is on the hunt to reclaim his crown.
