When Zoom Air hit big in 1996, the Uptempo era was at its peak and looking for even crazier ways to embellish midsoles we now look back on as ‘tank-like’. These trends came together on Jason Kidd’s first Nike Basketball signature the Zoom Flight 95, then continued throughout ’96 with standouts including the Zoom Flight 96 and Zoom Flight V followups as well as a shoe many people to this day still refer to as simply ‘the Barry Sanders’. Pictured above is the 1997-born successor to that Zoom Turf Training release, but instead of one of the great running backs of all-time, the Nike Air Zoom Jet belonged to another NFC Central North hall of famer. It’s an ironic name given Favre’s long tenure in Green Bay and all the drama surrounding his departure and annual ‘retirements’, and it feels even more synchronous given the standout pair in this pack is one that’ll make Gang Green go ga-ga.
