This summer, Nike Sportswear chose to remix Nike materials within the Nike Sportswear collection with legendary French textile designer Paule Marrot Editions. Once loved by the British royal family and Jackie Kennedy, Paule Marrot Editions has been creating memorable designs since 1920. Nike Sportswear’s footwear designers integrated Paule Marrot’s “Aurore” to inspire the Butterflies print on the new “Skinny” Dunks. Paule Marrot’s textiles were heavily influenced by Marrot’s early studies as a painter under impressionists such as Pierre-August Renoir, Raoul Dufy and Maurice Denis. Accents of the designs show up throughout the rest of the Nike Sportswear Summer 09 Dunk collection as well, not just on the “Skinny Dunks.” The Nike designer team have used inspiration to create the original Nike Dunk Low in unisex styles as well. Look for this pair of Women’s Dunk High Skinny at select Nike Sportswear retailers including nikestore.com.
