A few days ago, Sneaker News dropped the official release date of the Nike Air Foamposite One ‘Electrolime/Golden State’, which is now set at March 17th, 2012. One debate-stirring detail about the upcoming release was the new $220 price-point – a $20 hike from the already tough-to-swallow $200 that marked Foamposite releases over the last few years. With Nike set to increase prices across the board in an effort to reach its $27 billion goal by 2015 and to counter-act the rising costs of manufacturing, many, if not all of Nike’s footwear have gone up in price; Nike Sporstwear Air Max releases have gone up $5, Air Force 1 Lows are now at an even $90 ($88 in 2011), and newer models from the Nike Lunar series have gone up 10% – the LunarGlide+ 3 going from $100 to $110. Is this 10% increase in Foamposite costs too much to handle? In some states, where sales tax is nearly 10%, Foamposites may be a harder sell. In any case, many sneakerheads are still eagerly looking forward to the releases of this electrifying new colorway, so take a gander at the new detailed gallery below and let us know your thoughts regarding the price increases. via RMK.
