Many Air Jordan purists prefer to leave their sneakers in their original state, as Michael used to wear ’em. Some might say that swapping out laces is a ‘no-no’ and that they should be worn they way they’re packaged in the box, but take for example the Air Jordan V in Black/Metallic Silver; while they come with black laces, at times, Michael actually wore them with white ones, matching the white stitching on the ’23’ on the heel. With that said, lace-swapping is an easy way to rejuvenate an old pair of kicks or to give a new pair an added pop. But while it may be easier to do that on a simpler shoe like the Air Max 1 or Nike Dunk, it’s starting to become a slightly more common practice with Air Jordans now that new colorways are popping up with every Retro release. NT member dankenstien88 recently showed off his impressive Air Jordan collection, all of which feature alternate lacing, so check out his collection below and let us know if you think swapping out laces for an Air Jordan shoe is acceptable or blasphemous.
