Ever since the ‘Fresh Water’ Air Griffey Max 1 hit retailers in early 2009, Ken Griffey Jr.’s signature line has enjoyed quite a bit of attention from Nike Sportswear. We’ve seen a variety of AGM1 colorways along with the Air Max JR hybrid built from its vamp, the AGM II and an upcoming Air Max Griffey Fury in the same mold as the JRs. The way things are going, we’re going to see each of the models with his Swingman insignia hit store shelves again, and the world moves one step closer to that reality with news of the Nike Total Griffey Max 99 coming back around next year. It looks like the original white/blue look has seen its yellow accents pushed toward a more neon shade like Volt, while if indeed that is a red Max Air cushion on the black edition, it too has seen a cosmetic change in the lateral ‘wave’ that was tonal the first time around.
