The reaction on the Air Jordan III Black Cement done in nubuck was swift and it was one-sided, the vast majority of thumbed-up comments here on Sneaker News in favor of the legendary 1988 release’s original tumbled leather getup. A similar change went down with the ‘Flu Game’ Air Jordan XII, a nickname formalized when the famous 1997 NBA Finals away colorway was reproduced with a special insignia commemorating MJ’s heroic feat. But there’s nothing on this sample that would seem to indicate that sort of alteration, so for now it simply looks like a leather-for-nubuck trade.
