If the idea of SOPHNET adding a zipper to the side of an iconic basketball sneaker seems familiar, that means you’ve probably been reading Sneaker News on the reg. The Japanese clothing line just launched a zippered Nike Blazer Mid AB that makes us wonder if a collaboration like the one pictured above would have even been possible before Nike Inc. purchased Converse. All speculation aside, the SOPHNET x Converse Chuck Taylor All Star is a welcome addition to the relatively limited world of zip-up kicks and worthy sequel to 2009’s 10th anniversary edition. Relative to the Blazers, their fast-entry enclosure moved to the lateral side to make room for the Chuck’s iconic medial ankle badge. These joints are super clean with a navy blue foxing band contrasting the white canvas upper and if you’re in the area you’ll be able to find these at all SOPHNET. retailers in Japan starting this Saturday, March 5th. via FRESHNESS
