The Los Angeles Lakers opened the 2010-11 NBA season in style last night at Staples Center, getting their rings from a second consecutive championship and handily dispatching their conference rivals, the Houston Rockets. On the other coast, LeBron James broke out his newest signature sneaker, but for the other Nike Basketball alpha dog, it was shades of last year with Kobe Bryant rocking a new colorway of the Zoom Kobe V. And we’ll probably see the Black Mamba wearing the ZKvs until around the turn of the year, when the Nike Zoom Kobe 6 is set to debut. A colorway much like last year’s Inline ZK5, the ‘Concord’ Zoom Kobe VI features a shade that’d be familiar if you’re an Air Jordan XI fan, a distinctive purple shade to tie in the otherwise white/black shoe with Laker uniforms.
