Even as the entire world looked to cut the fat and simplify their fashions in response to the global financial meltdown and ensuing gloom, Jeremy Scott sprinted in the opposite direction. Perhaps he ran faster than the orbit of the Earth, which would explain how his designs winded up looking mighty reminiscent of the late ’80s/early ’90s hip-hop aesthetic. Bright and bold releases aplenty, it’s perhaps easier to recognize J.Scott’s wacky designs than any other collaborative capsule. And now, like a brilliant TV show that really gets good in season three after the characters are fully established, Scott turns his eye back toward the more ‘mainstream’ trends in streetwear. For his latest Jeremy Scott x adidas JS 3 Tongue, Scott applied a simple grey-on-white colorway that mirrors the two-toned designs we’ve seen hundreds of this year.
