Salehe Bembury x Crocs has been an incredibly fruitful relationship so far. Most importantly, it brought the Colorado corporation its biggest streetwear silhouette with the Pollex Clog. Then, by appointing Bembury to a creative director position, the company signalled that the relationship would only become more central. The Crocs Juniper, an outdoorsy model and one of the first sneakers in the Crocs arsenal, has been teased to great anticipation, and now a second “Tree Camo” edition is being added.
Given the earthy, neutral leanings of Bembury’s past work with Crocs, the palette itself isn’t all too surprising. That’s especially true given that the New York designer previously teased a realtree Croc, still unreleased at the time of writing. Here, the upper clads comprehensively in familiar camouflage, graphic depictions of wood and leaves presenting a “hyper-real” atmosphere. The brain-like traction unit remains in a similar semi-translucent shade, perhaps approaching “Gum” in a darker tint. The sockliner and tongue take to a pine tree green, concluding the outdoorsy makeover for Bembury and Crocs’ new offering.
At the time of writing, release information for this sneaker is unconfirmed. However, the debut of the Crocs Juniper in “Coral” is slowly approaching on May 30th. It’s possible that this second colorway will be the public follow up, but keep a close eye on this page for the latest information.
