The Nike Zoom GT Cut 3 Prepares For The Paris Olympics

With eyes on the Paris Olympic Games this summer, Nike Basketball adds to its usual diet of team-edition gear with a neutral take on its tentpole shoe; the Zoom GT Cut 3.

A first look courtesy of @xcsnkr reveals icy blue treatments atop a metallic gold toe, evoking the look of trophies, medals, and other sought-after hardware associated with the Olympic Games. While more context from Nike could reveal specific associations, it would appear that the shoes are designed as a tribute to international basketball as a whole, evidence by “Shine Together” text on the heel and insoles.

This Zoom GT Cut 3 surfaces alongside huge news regarding an Air Jordan 6 “Paris Olympics” dropping on August 7th, not to mention the speculative return of the Red/White/Blue “Olympic” Jordan 6 later this fall.

Nike Basketball outfits Team USA and signed an 11-year deal with FIBA back in 2017, so we could very well see more Olympic-themed footwear surface ahead of the opening ceremony in late July. In any case, these latest developments offer reason for excitement among basketball and sneaker fans from all areas of the world.

Enjoy a first look at the Nike Zoom GT Cut 3 “Olympic” below and return periodically to our Sneaker Release Dates page while we learn of a firm drop date.
