Di’orr Greenwood’s skate gear always features a strong homage to her Navajo roots, and her upcoming Nike SB Dunk High is no exception. Images of the Arizona skater’s debut Nike SB collaboration first surfaced in October of last year, and now an official photo gallery confirms what the shoe will look like upon release.
Greenwood’s first Dunk High collaboration is largely a continuation of her vast catalog of creative work, aligned with the ethos of her personal brand that champions Navajo heritage and design language. A Navajo-inspired gradient pattern appears prominently on the tongue and heel, while blue and orange suede panels evoke a desert palette alongside screen-printed insole imagery.
Perhaps the shoe’s most unique treatment, however, is also its most subtle. The Northern Male constellation (aka Big Dipper) appears in white stitch over a black Swoosh, said to resemble a man lying down who represents the father and protector of the home.
