ASICS GEL-Kayano shoes have had a cult following for a while, but modern footwear sensibilities have placed the line at the forefront of current fashion trends. Now it appears ASICS is using the GEL-Kayno 14 to propel a new vertical called ASICS Unlimited, set to release a number of looks both colorful and contemporary overseas.
Five GEL-Kayano 14 colorways make up the “Unlimited Pack”; Carrier Grey, White/Fawn, Mist, Oyster Grey, and Smoke Grey. All shoes feature the same leather and mesh builds, with four of the five pairs also joined by their use of quick lace systems. The White/Fawn colorway breaks from the herd in that department with traditional tooling, an interesting direction given the pack’s otherwise cohesive presentation up top.
While each pair highlights retro runner design language one way or another, they differ slightly in their specific color blocking treatments. Notably, the Carrier Grey and White/Fawn pairs embrace a liberal use of reflective silver, while its counterparts follow a different path with traditional leather forefoot structures.
A staggered release schedule has been established for the month of March in South Korea, but a global release date has yet to be confirmed. Enjoy close-up looks at all upcoming pairs below, and keep an eye on our Sneaker Release Dates page as we track details surrounding a potential asics.com drop.
