As promised, winners of the first-ever adidas Consortium Cup will have their designs created and released to the public. BSTN’s spin on the classic adidas Samba will launch just ahead of the holiday season.
Touted as “an OG with a twist,” the German boutique’s entry into the competition’s adidas Originals round modifies the popular sneaker’s inaugural “Cloud White/Core Black/Gum” color scheme. BSTN’s makeover focuses on premium quality execution, and features refreshing patent leather on the forefoot’s “T” toe and custom heel. A lightweight textile is used for the pairs’s base layer, which is overlaid with soft nubuck at the profile 3-Stripes. The winners incorporated a special chenille patch onto the neoprene tongue, cementing its victory in the annals of adidas Consortium collaborations. The BSTN logo introduces a rich blue tone into the mix that doesn’t detract from the model’s classic color scheme.
Underfoot, the adidas Samba’s tooling is kept intact. A dark brown finish rounds out the silhouette, which is modeled by BSTN friend and three-time Champions League winner David Alaba (Real Madrid).
Enjoy campaign photography of the pair ahead. The BSTN Samba “Consortium Cup” will launch via bstn.com and in-person on Wednesday, November 15th. Additional retailers and the adidas CONFIRMED app will release the shoe on November 22nd.
