The latest iteration from the experimental ISPA design house was released this past Spring in an effort to democratize design through accessibility. Exploring a modular design, the Nike ISPA Universal now adds a clad-brown offering to the restrictive mix of clog-like constructions.
Inspired by three of the brand’s past icons – the Air Max 270, Zoom Type and Solarsoft HTM – the bio-foam-constructed silhouette continues the Beaverton banner’s sustainability initiatives by being derived in part from sugarcane. Buffed by hand – resulting in a unique 1-of-1 Patina finish that varies from each and every model – the topographical ridges of the upper allow for a singular slit at the forefoot for breathability purposes. Accompanied by cork insoles to help absorb moisture, the entirety of the composition is cured in a clad-brown treatment plucked directly from the hues of the earth.
The Nike ISPA Universal “Natural and Earth” is scheduled to release on October 19th for a retail price of $80. In the meantime, the pair can be seen below in detailed imagery.
In other news, the SB Dunk High “Sweet Tooth” recently appeared in official imagery.
