With BMX biking joining the list of sports for the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Nike decided to commemorate the addition of this popular sport by creating a pack of Nike SB’s based on BMX riding. Specifically, the inspiration for these dunks comes from the Hutch Trickstar, a storied bike in the BMX community. The bright gold colorway of the Dunk Low draws inspiration from the “Gold Trickstar,” a 24k gold plated bike belonging to Woody Itson, a well-known BMX rider. The star pattern covering both the Blazer and the Dunk definitely sets these two drops apart from the crowd, as does the gold color making up the swoosh in the Blazer, and basically the entire shoe in the Dunk Low. Dave’s Quality Meat apparently had a hand in the creation of these SB’s, so expect them to be getting some of the first shipments of this sick pack this weekend when they drop. Via DQM blog.
